As the Supervisor of Events and Operations at Louisville Water Tower, Megan Jones’ list of responsibilities is quite monumental.

“I oversee the management and execution of events at Louisville Water Tower, including rentals of the venue, field trips, and public open days at the WaterWorks Museum. I work with employees to make sure the day-to-day operations of the business and space are completed. From marketing to creating new exhibits and lessons, my job looks different everyday,” Jones said.

Having a different job every day is one of the things Jones likes the most about working at Louisville Water Tower.

“Each event brings its own set of challenges and opportunities. I find satisfaction in creating memorable experiences for all our visitors,” she said.

Many of Megan’s visitors come to the Tower to get married.


“It brings me so much joy in assisting couples as they embark on their lifelong journey together,” she said. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that our venue will hold a special place in their lives as they begin their forever here.”

I would recommend developing strong organizational and communication skills. Attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to adapt to different situations. Building a network within the event planning industry can be beneficial for collaboration and sharing insights. Additionally, staying updated on industry trends and technologies can contribute to staying competitive in the field.”

When she’s not helping couples plan the next chapter of their love story, she likes working out and spending time with her family.

“In my spare time, I stay active either by hitting the gym or engaging in the exhilarating pursuit of chasing my kids. I also enjoy discovering new restaurants and savoring diverse cuisines. When it’s time to unwind, I love vegging out in front of the TV.”
